Phone System

cisco
VoIP stands for (Voice Over Intent Protocol) and allows you to make telephone calls using a computer network, over a data network like the Internet. VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the internet then converts it back at the other end so you can speak to anyone with a regular phone number. When placing a VoIP call using a phone with an adapter, you'll hear a dial tone and dial just as you always have.

The phone system is managed in the same manner as the data network and the rules of acceptable use apply as well. The system is also compatible with the 911 emergency system and store information in the case of malicious calls such as bomb threats, phone threats and calls and other threats of that nature.

If you are needing a phone for your office or staff members, call the Technology Department Office for purchase information. Purchase must be approved by an administrator beforehand.
