Rules Are For Everyone
GAMES
Games are not allowed on the machines in the computer lab unless they are part of a approved software program. Students caught by technology staff will have computer access terminated. Teachers and administrators will notified of offenses.
MONITORING
The Technology Office staff monitors all users using Lyford CISD computers.
TIME LIMITS
At times when demand for lab machines is high, a 1-hour time limit will be placed on use of all computers in the lab. This will ensure that students have an opportunity to access district computer systems.
COPYRIGHTS & LICENSING
No copying of any software from the computer lab will be allowed. Any user caught making illegal copies will be subject to disciplinary action. No software from home is allowed on any LCISD computer.
SOFTWARE AND MANUALS
Any software, manuals and equipment must stay in the computer lab. Material may not be checked out for use outside of the lab at any time.
STORING FILES AND DATA
Installation of any programs on any public computer lab machine is prohibited without permission from the Technology Department. You may save personal files to the computer, flash drives and CD-RW where available.
MUSIC IN COMPUTER LABS
You may listen to music on LCISD computers with the permission of the Principal, but all music must be on CD. Any and all types of unauthorized media being stored on the computer will be removed.
LOGGING IN
Users are required to log into computer lab systems with their own username and password. Teachers may not use their own login and password to access computers for students. You may not allow anyone to use your login and password to access LCISD computer systems. Violation of these rules can result in serious disciplinary action.
LOGGING OUT
You must log out of the system when you leave the computer labs -- even if only for a short time. Failure to do so may result in someone else accessing your account without your knowledge and cause a problem for you. Computers may not be saved for your use while you are away from the lab. You may be responsible for any violation of lab policies that occur, even when you did not perform the action.
