General Information for Active Substitute Teachers / Individuals Interested In Applying for Substitute Teacher
Recognizing that the quality of life, both today and in the future, depends on the quality of education provided by the public schools. Lyford CISD is dedicated to education and committed to meeting the needs of every individual.

NEW! - Lyford CISD is accepting substitute teachers for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year. Individuals who are interested may apply online. For further questions, please contact LCISD Office of Human Resources.
NEW! - All new substitute teachers are required to comply with fingerprinting requirements prior to being placed as a substitute teacher. A fee of $47.45 will be paid by the substitute teacher at the time fingerprints are taken. Fingerprints taken while working at a another public school district will be accepted. However, if fingerprints were taken as a requirement with another entity or agency, and not a public school district, individuals may need to go through the entire process again.
- Returning Substitutes: Should you decide that you are not interested in remaining as a Lyford CISD substitute teacher or if your status has changed, you must report to the Office of Human Resources to complete a resignation form. No verbal requests will be accepted.
Certified Educators and Retired Teachers interested in becoming a Substitute Teacher at Lyford CISD may contact the Office of Human Resources anytime during the school year. However, due to anticipated cuts in projected state aid for public education all new substitute teacher positions have been closed until futher notice.
- Please keep all personal information current with the HR and Payroll Offices. It is important that mailing addresses be updated regularly. This will ensure that all necessary information be sent to you in a timely manner.
- Paychecks to be picked up at the Payroll Office on pay days no later than 3:15 p.m. Any paychecks not picked up by this time, will be mailed.
