LCISD offers a Benefits Open Enrollment period which allows full-time and part-time faculty and staff to enroll or who is enrolled in TRS ActiveCare/VBHP health care plans and other plans, a time to review current benefit elections for the next plan year. The benefit selections made during open enrollment will take effect on September 1st and remain in effect for the entire year unless a qualifying event occurs.
Full-time and part-time faculty and staff may enroll for the first time, re-enroll, or change plan choices. This is the time to add eligible dependents or remove dependents that are no longer eligible.
Questions regarding open enrollment or your benefit choices can be directed to the Lyford CISD Business Office/Benefits Department at 956-347-3901.
If you did not enroll during spring enrollment, please find enrollment documents that must be completed to process your benefit election. Enrollment must be completed if you are:
· Making changes to available insurances
· Not making changes to available insurances
· Declining available insurances
Health Insurance and ATPE are completed in paper form and must be turned in to the business office. Supplemental Insurance is completed on-line (see below).
How to complete the health insurance enrollment form?
No changes to available coverage:
ü Write “no changes” on top of the enrollment form.
ü Complete sections 1, 2, 4, and 10.
Declining available coverage
ü Complete sections 1, 2 and 9.
Changes to available coverage
ü Complete sections 1, 2, 4 and 10

Click the Log in button on the bar below the district name.
Another window will open, prompting you to Login.
Username: First 6 letters of your last name, first initial, followed by the last four digits of your social security number.
Password: Full last name followed by the last four digits of your social security number.

Prior to attending your new hire meeting, please read and become familiar with the Benefits Summary Information
As a new employee, you must complete the enrollment within 31 days of your employment start date (your first day of work). If you do not enroll you will not have insurance benefits.
Enrollment forms are required; all benefit elections must be completed .

Health Coverage- The Lyford Consolidated Independent School District provides group health insurance coverage for employees under the TRS/VBHP. The District contributes the first $240.00 per month toward each regular employee's health coverage premium.
Life Insurance- The District provides each full time employee with a $10,000 life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy at no cost. Voluntary coverage above $10,000 is available to employees and their dependents at an additional cost.
Optional Insurance Plans- Several types of individual insurance programs are available through payroll deductions at employees' expense including disability, cancer, dental and vision coverage.
Tax Deferred Annuities- Employees may have a specific amount of their salary payroll deducted and invested into a tax sheltered annuity plan.
