The Lyford Athletic Department is responsible (in partnership with campus principals) for physical education classes for pre-kindergarten through 12th grades.  In addition, students who enroll in athletics in middle and high school may participate in UIL sports competition which includes football, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, track and field, tennis, soccer, golf, baseball, softball, power lifting and athletic training.  The goal of the athletic/PE department is that students acquire valuable life skills, including the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, respect for others, self-confidence, responsibility, conflict management, etc.
